Java Island lies to the north and Christmas Island to the south. It is the world's 13th largest island. Java is almost entirely of volcanic origin; it contains no fewer than thirty-eight mountains forming an east-west spine which have at one time or another been active volcanoes. The highest volcano in Java is Mount Semeru (3,676 m). The most active volcano in Java and also in Indonesia is Mount Merapi (2,914 m). See Volcanoes of Java. Further mountains and highlands help to split the interior into a series of relatively isolated regions suitable for wet-rice cultivation; the rice lands of Java are among the richest in the world. The area of Java is approximately 132,000km2 The island's longest river is the 600 km long Bengawan Solo River. The river rises from its source in central Java at the Lawu volcano, the flows north and eastwards to its mouth in the Java Sea near the city of Surabaya. Popular tourist destinations include the city of Yogyakarta, the huge Buddhist stupa complex of Borobudur, the Hindu temples at Prambanan, and Mount Bromo in East Java.

Java is de meest dichtbevolkste eiland van Indonesie . De meeste Indonesiërs wonen en werken op dit eiland. Maar ondanks dát beschikt Java over een prachtig tropisch landschap: rijstvelden, thee-, rubber-, tabak- en suikerrietplantages maar ook begroeide vulkanen waarvan enkele actief zijn.
Het moderne Jakarta is een kloppende metropool: tussen overheidsgebouwen en bedrijven circuleert het onophoudelijke drukke wegverkeer, het oude Jakarta is interessant voor de reiziger die Batavia, het voormalige Jakarta in de koloniale periode, wil ontdekken. De oude haven Sunda Kelapa met de Buginese schoeners kent nog bedrijvigheid: verspreiding van hout vanuit Kalimantan.In de populaire regenrijke buitenplaats Bogor kun je de wereldbekende botanische tuin met specifieke tropische planten,bomen en bloemen (o.a. orchideeën,rafflesia arnoldi) bezoeken, de koele stad Bandung met zijn vroegere Europese allure is aantrekkelijk door zijn centrale ligging in het Preangergebergte. Hier kun je ook  fascinerende uitvoeringen bezoeken van de Angklungschool waar kinderen bamboe-instrumenten leren bespelen. Ontspannend is het om enkele dagen aan het strand van Pangandaran aan de zuidkust van West-Java te verblijven, waar je ook het tropische natuurreservaat Green Canyon kunt bezoeken. Met de boot van Majingklak naar Cilacap aan de zuidkust van Midden-Java of overland van Pangandaran naar Wonosobo bij de hoogvlakte van het Diengplateau met zijn vele oude tempels reis je in oostelijke richting naar het culturele centrum van Java: het sultanaat Yogyakarta. Vanuit Yogyakarta is de meest beroemde Boeddhistische tempel ‘de Borobudur’ te bewonderen.

Op ten oosten van  Yogyakarta ligt ook de  Hindoetempel ‘Prambanan’ is absoluut een bezoek waard. Yogyakarta heeft vele uitgaansmogelijkheden: gezellige restaurants met allerlei exotische gerechten, bars, discotheken en danstheaters (zoals de Ramayana voorstelling ). Maar je kunt ook kiezen om van Bandung in noordoostelijke richting te reizen via de oude hoofdstad Cirebon met zijn kraton Kasepuhan en Kalongan, het walhalla van de batik, naar de havenstad Semarang met zijn oude koloniale gebouwen. Je kunt hier de warm waterbronnen bij het hooggelegen bergdorp Bandungan bezoeken. Vanuit Yogyakarta of Semarang kun je naar het koele Sarangan op Midden Java. Tegen de berghelling Lawu op de grens van Midden en Oost Java liggen de weinig bezochte maar zeer eigenaardige tempels Sukuh en Ceto met veel thee plantages in de omgeving. De tempel Sukuh lijkt op een Maya tempel van het oude Peru met diverse vruchtbaarheidssymbolen. Vanaf de hindoetempel Ceto is er een fraai uitzicht over de berg Lawu. Een bezoek in de vroege ochtend aan de vulkaan de Bromo met zijn maanlandschap in het Tenggergebergte op Oost-Java is  fascinerend. Beklim de Penanjakan berg om de prachtige zonsopgang  te genieten waarme u de mooie landschap van tenggergeberte kan genieten. Na de zonsopgang kun je de weg vervolgen naar het meest oostelijk gedeelte van Java met de vele plantages. U kunt dichbij en ruiken,proeven de tropische kruiden zoals nootmuskaat, peper, kruidnagel en gember uit de plantagetuinen in de omgeving van Kalibaru en bezoek de lokale bedrijfjes die de ‘gula jawa (palmsuiker) bereiden. Jij kunt verder met de boot varen naar bali als de volgende bestemming vakantie plaats.

YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR

Day 1. ARRIVAL AND VISIT PRAMBANAN TEMPLE
Arrival in the morning at the airport of Yogyakarta then visit Prambanan temple as the highest hindhu temple in Java.

Day 2. BOROBUDUR TOUR AND YOGYAKARTA TOUR
After breakfast you will be picked up by the local guide to bring you to Borobudur as the biggest buddhist temple in Indonesia from the 8th century. After lunch you will taken to Sultan palace, Batik factory, Silver smiths and in the evening you could take the Ramayana ballet performance as an optional program.

Day 3. TRANSFER OUT

DAY 1 JAKARTA - BOGOR
Upon arrival at Jakarta’s Soekarno Hatta International Jakarta Airport, meeting service with your tourguide and transfer to Bogor for overnight accommodation. On the way we will make a short stop Jakarta seightseing tour at Sunda Kelapa Old Harbour. Overnight in Bogor at GG House Happy Valley or similar.

DAY 2 BOGOR - BANDUNG
In the morning a two-hours village trekking to admire the West Javanese Village atmosphere before proceeding to Puncak where a visit to one of the many tea plantations has been arranged. Following luncheon pass the summer Presidential Palace (1750) at Cipanas and continue to Bandung, the capital of West Java. Overnight in Bandung at Santika Hotel or similar.

DAY 3 BANDUNG TOUR
A full day tour to Tangkuban Perahu and Ciater Hot Spring includes lunch: A full day tour to explore the area around Bandung and the city itself, including a visit to Tangkuban Perahu (which means hulk of overturned boat) a volcano, where we can drive right up to the rim to see the breathtaking view of the active volcano and its smoldering crater. Continue our journey to Ciater with its hot spring of sulfured water, good for healing rheumatism and skin problems. Enjoy your swim in the pool with warm sulfured water. In the afternoon we will visit the Angklung Music School, when performances are available we will see the Angklung Orchestra performance by school children of different ages. Overnight in Bandung at Santika Hotel or similar.

DAY 4 BANDUNG - WONOSOBO
In the morning transfer to the train station, a ride in the local train with local people escorted by the guide will be an experience. Upon arrival at the train station in Banjar or Kutoarjo, continue the journey by coach for about 2 to 3 hours transfer to Wonosobo. Overnight in Wonosobo at Gallery Hotel Kresna or similar.

DAY 5 WONOSOBO - YOGYAKARTA
Enjoy a leisurely drive to Dieng Plateau. This 2093 meter high plateau has a variety of interesting scenery, along the journey you will see the dramatic Mountain View and visit some older Hindu Temples and the crater. After lunch enjoy a leisurely drive through the town of Magelang to Yogyakarta. En-route we will visit the magnificent Borobudur Temple and have religious Borobudur tour, one of the Seven Wonder of the World. Overnight in Yogyakarta at Jayakarta Hotel or similar.

DAY 6 YOGYAKARTA TOUR
A full day City Tour and Prambanan Temple: A total day to explore the rich life of Yogyakarta, including the Kraton Yogyakarta Sultan‘s Palace, Batik Home industry then proceed to Kota Gede, the original home of Yogya‘s silverware. In the afternoon visit the Prambanan Temple, the temple of the Slender Virgin. 
Overnight in Yogyakarta at Jayakarta Hotel or similar.

DAY 7 YOGYAKARTA - MALANG
Continue our journey to Malang, East Java. We will pass through Solo and Madiun. Late in the afternoon arrive in Malang where we will stay for two nights.

DAY 8 MALANG TOUR
Optional Malang and Batu Tour: A leisurely visit to Cuban Rondo Water Fall, Batu a beautiful mountain resort set high on the southern slope of Mt. Arjuna, also visit a Ceramic Home Industry and the Old City of Malang. Overnight in Malang at Santika Hotel or similar.

DAY 9 MALANG - BROMO
Morning free for leisure. In the afternoon continue the drive to Mt. Bromo for an overnight stop. Overnight in Bromo at Grand Bromo Hotel or Bromo Cottage.

DAY 10 BROMO TOUR - KALIBARU
An early morning optional tour to Mt. Bromo! By minivan and horseback journey up the Bromo Volcano (Mt. Bromo) to experience the magnificence of sunrise over Java. This apocalyptic-like experience will richly reward the efforts rising before dawn, after the Bromo Sunrise tour, return to the hotel for Breakfast. Continue our journey to Kalibaru, a small village with beautiful and various types of plantation.Overnight in Kalibaru at Margo Utomo Cottage or similar.

DAY 11 KALIBARU
A full day free at leisure, an orientation of small plantation tour will be provided.

An optional for the big plantation tour include lunch can be arranged to see the plantation and visit the rubber factory. Overnight in Kalibaru at Margo Utomo Cottage or similar.

Day 12 KALIBARU - IJEN
Depart in morning to visit plantation see the people's daily activities, visit Muncar where the traditional port is. Drop to Ijen Resort the hotel on the slop on Mt. Ijen to overnight.

DAY 13 KAWAH IJEN TOUR- DROP OFF TO BALI
Early morning visit Ijen Cratere by trekking to enjoy the most exotic scenery of the volcano in Java. Passing through Banyuwangi we will drive to Ketapang for a ferry ride across the Bali Strait, then via Gilimanuk we will drive to Ubud for overnight accommodation at your pre-booked hotel.
